A few years ago I created a small applet which graphs the Miata Camber Curves for the NA (1990-1997) Miatas. Recently Shaikh and I had the opportunity to measure the camber curve on an NC (2006) model.
Here are the same applets, updated with the data points from our
NC
measurements. See the NA camber curve page for
additional commentary.
2023 Update
Unfortunately Java applets aren't really supported in browsers
anymore, so the embedded graphs below won't work. If you have Java
runtime installed on your machine you can run these locally.
Download Miata_NC.zip and unzip it
in some convenient location on your computer. The appletviewer
program should be part of your Java runtime installation. Run the
following command in the directory Miata_NA you unzipped:
appletviewer miata_nc_camber.html
This should pop up two windows, one for the front camber curves
and one for the rear. You can interact with the graphs as
described above with the arrow keys.
BUG: For some
reason interacting with the NC curves does not work when run in
appletviewer. The NA curves do work. I'll try to find the source
code for these and fix it someday.
